Unable to use borderless windowed
Same old story, but now with a new issue.

I'm able to enter the game and set it to windowed. Then I use BorderlessGaming to maximize the window and remove borders. It uses to work, but with Dying Light the game seems to understand that such actions mean I want it fullscreen, and goes fullscreen.

If I go to video options, fullscreen is back on. I set it off, but when I try to remove borders it goes back fullscreen. That's VERY unnoying and unecessary.

The less bad solution I could find is set it to 1680x1050. This way I don't get part of the game out of window, but I lose a lot of horizontal area.

Has anybody able to make borderless windowed work? I suppose Techland is too busy to remove this "feature".

I'm confused. You trying to go maximized borderless ( aka fullscreen ), but using fullscreen is not what your trying to do ? Maybe I'm missing your point ?

The game seems to handle its window really strangely. I run the game in fullscreen. Anytime I alt-tab the game will turn itself into a window that is the same size as my desktop, but isn't borderless. Once I click back on that window or alt-tab back into it it will then fullscreen the window again.

I would be willing to bet that it's this programmed behavior that overrides borderless gaming and remaximizes itself every time you focus on the window again.

Precisely. Mine has never functioned differently than described.

Windows's DWM freaks out when I open or close, or minimize or restore a game in fullscreen. It's very annoying. But it doesn't care when a game is inside a window. But I want the game to use full monitor space.

Having it borderless windowed provides me the benefits of being windowed plus the full size of fullscreen.

Indeed, it seems devs were jerks and mssed with window control. Probably sonystas that never touched a PC before and wanted to mess with it.
