Prodigal Son - cannot start the quest?

Hey guys,

while doing quest for Rais (climbing on towers) it lead us to a tower with NPC Alexei who is meant to start this quest. There was an option to start the quest but my friend was already climbing up the tower so I decided to follow him and though we going to take the quest on our way down.

After I activated the switch on the tower, the option to accept / start quest disappeared. I am now unable to start this side quest, even when I restart the game.

Anyone experienced something similar?

Alexei's quest doesn't have an option to start the quest like you described. You speak with him when you arrive at the tower he's working at.

Once you've had that conversation with Alexei, what he asks you to do is to find his son, who's volunteered as a Runner for Brecken.

You're next step it to ask around the Tower about him, which will continue the quest for you.

If you never had the conversation with Alexei, you need to go back and talk to him.

That's the quest we were doing when he had that option to talk to him and start the quest. When we climbed the tower and went down, this option disappeared and we are not able to start that quest anymore.

sure ... i am trying to get to tower now but cannot shake off tens of virals who somehow spawned on me

That's because of the community event, it can be easily disabled by going to main menu, options, online.

Oh thank god ... anyways, just made it to the tower where Alexei is and he;s not giving me the quest
