Is the crash when overclocking RAM, going to be fixed?
I've got a R5 1600x + tighter timings for my 3000mhz RAM to run at 3200mhz speed +1070 ti.

I've had some major crashes, just 5 minutes into the game, and searching about random crashes, I've seen advice of defaulting to stock RAM settings in BIOS.

Seems it worked, no crashes with the default RAM XMP profile, but I can't help but wonder why only this game does this and if it's ever going to be fixed, as my tuned RAM settings did give me about 10% better performance for free.

Is this a thing? Technically the 1600X is spec'd for 2666 so DDR4 3000 is an OC.

The PC I run DL on has a massive OC of DDR3 2800 C12 lol

Run Memtest for at least 8 hours to verify the memory overclock. Up until then there is nothing to discuss.

overclocking ram is going to bring insignificant performance boosts to the game and you really wont notice much change especially as this game is quite low spec, just focus on overclocking GPU and CPU and enjoy the game c:

I played Dying Light with an APU (Ryzen 2400g) and 3200MHz RAM.
Never crashed. The problem is your OC.

It would be the first game I have such issues with, played a lot of Kingdom Come Deliverance and Mankind Divided, so I would be surprised only this game gives me headaches. Anyway, reverted to stock RAM XMP wich is 3000 mhz, and it works fine now.

If you don't stress test your overclock it cannot be trusted. It booting and running stuff does not mean it is stable in 100% of cases. Part of the overclocking process is to test and verify, which your overclock failed, as demonstrated here.
