Ninja outfit dlc not true silent?

so i've obviously noticed it doesn't make a noise for the player, but the infected still seem to notice me all the same. Is it just a cosmetic effect that has no real effect on gameplay or are the infected specially trained to detect ninjas?

Right, it's only silent to player. Gameplay wise it doesn't give any advantage or affects it any way.

well i assumed as much but still that's pretty dumb. shouldn't really adverise it as "makes the player silent" when it technically doesn't. oh well, back to the rainbow outfit so i can look fabulous covered in blood.

To be honest, it's not really a bad thing. Two reasons I can think of are, 1. They didn't want to give outfits any actual gameplay advantages. 2. If it actually had advantage nearly everybody if not all would be wearing ninja outfit, resulting in more similar looking players and less variety. If this was the case, then they would need more outfits with advantages in order to spread out variety and prevent everybody wearing same outfit, which would lead to... Well, 1.

Yeah no i understand that don't get me wrong, i just think it should specify that the silence is purely cosmetic. i was for a while running around in the ninja outfit because i assumed it did actually have the advantage of being silent, but i guess not.

Yeah no i understand that don't get me wrong, i just think it should specify that the silence is purely cosmetic. i was for a while running around in the ninja outfit because i assumed it did actually have the advantage of being silent, but i guess not.

the game sint really a stealth game otherwise it woulda been useful, hopefully dl2 implements stealth nicely

using zombie guts as camo or camo potion doesnt count as stealth, and using a silenced pistol or crossbow/bowarrow on human enemies who immediately spot you doesnt count as stealth either. the only "stealth" is not getting spotted by volatiles as they have a timer while you are in their sight so you have to quickly hide
