Gold tier weapons also have very small chances of appearing in normal containers, but the best ways find them, not necessarily in this order, are:
- winning invasions until you reach Underdog rank (from this rank onwards, you'll be often rewarded with gold tier weapons provided you destroyed a decent amount of hives);
- doing Bozak horde runs and getting premium dockets as rewards;
- doing Harran Prison runs with friends to easily get the Guru Reward and spawn only gold tier weapons in the armory;
- participating in community events to get premium dockets that also reward you with gold tier gear with the quartermaster.
It depends what you mean.
Dockets for example have 100% chance to drop Gold-tier weapons or Guru reward from Prison Heist, if that's what you mean. Looting on Hard mode is 1/1,000 chance for Gold-tier weapon and 1/100 on Nightmare mode, so Prison and dockets are far better ways of obtaining it.
If you are looking for certain weapon that's tied to Legend skill-tree then yes you'll need luck or knowledge which rank it's unlocked at.
I still haven't yet tried Prison Heist so I don't know. You can get Bozak dockets which will still have 100% chance of Gold-tier weapons even on Normal mode. First docket is unlocked at trial 5, second at 12 and third 20. You can replay until trial 5 and restart to keep on getting dockets.
It highly depends on how fast you are able to reach the armory, that's why I suggested you play with friends, so you are able to do the run more quickly.
If you finish it in around 6 minutes, you'll get the Master level reward, and all chests will spawn orange tier weapons. To get the Guru level, you must finish the run in around 5 minutes, or less.
Note that Prison Heist is not yet added. Also the fact that Techland added normal Gold-tier weapons in rewards from invasions after reaching Underdog rank. Back then you could only get fantasy weapons.
Yeah, it's hard to go solo without good weapons but if you want to try and reach the Guru reward, I can help. It's just a matter of knowing the paths and working together to reach the armory.
I'm currently trying to perfect my runs, but alone I'm unable to do it in less than 6 minutes, lmao.
I was referring that it's not yet added to the wiki page. So it's outdated when it comes to information regarding Gold-tier weapons from Prison Heist.
They mean Harran Prison is not mentioned in the article they pointed out in the wiki.
