It can help, but the best thing to do on low end is set everything to low and remove shadows from your game files. A ReShade will help a little bit but removing shadows will help the most.
Also I couldn't install it due to virustotal detecting it as virus, and then it simply kept giving me errors. Can't remember which game it was for.
Did you download it from the official [reshade.me] website?
If you turn off shadows in the game files in documents/DyingLight/out/Settings or something like that, you can completely disable shadows and still have online access. I'm not sure if that's the exact location for it, but it should be around there. It is similar to the higher FOV method. Turning off shadows will help a lot with low end though.
Its in Video Settings
Menu > Options > Video.
Vertical Synch: OFF
Texture Quality: MEDIUM
Shadow Map Size: LOW
Foliage Quality: LOW
View Distance: MOVE SLIDE BAR TO MINIMUM
Ambient Occ: OFF
Motion Blur: OFF
Antialiasing: OFF
Film Grain Effect: OFF
Chromatic Abberation Effect: OFF
Try those for starters.
