where is my mother quest bug

so i have cleared all zombies in the area and house/cafe but game will not let me open the closet door where jamil is hidding, very strange because i have googled this but no one else has experienced this. press x to open does not appear, i"m using a XB1 controller which is compatible wtih Dying Light. if you guys have any advice on what i can do to fix this leave a comment thanks guys.

ok cool ty i apprecate it xd. playing it in coop is a good idea i think that would fix it. sry late reply time goes so fast. can we do it later? i"m going to see a film soon.

i"m ready to play that quest together if it"s not to late for you. sry for not being ready 3 hours ago, i was trying complete a level on velvet assassin but it"s hard since the game mechanics are poorly designed.
