a lot of infected in the start of game

when i start the game and leaving the tower first time, there are so many infected (fast zombies), like 10-15 and they never run out. even on normal mode. what to do?

It's because of the new l4d2 event,which adds hordes and makes all zombies run fast,you can disable the event by go to Options -> Online -> Community Event Participation. Hope it helped :)

I just bought the game and this was legitimately pissing me off to the point I was about to uninstall it and refund it. I will try turning this off and see if it helps at all, I can't even finish the first mission of setting up the traps, I get swarmed and killed within seconds of leaving the second safe zone.

I honestly thought this was normal and this game was about to become top of my stupidest ♥♥♥♥ ever list for a while.

Thanks Vladstalker213Rus. I just quit the game because when I came out of the Sunny Apartments quarantine zone, all of a sudden there were virals (fast zombies) everywhere and I was way the hell away from Brecken's tower. I couldn't figure out what had happened because this sudden invasion of the virals had never happened during any of the other Community Events. Also, I slept until night in the ground floor of the tower & went to the doorway leading outside & there were all these volatiles (the nasties whose jaws split down the middle) lurking right outside the tower itself, which has never happened before. So yeah, your advice is very much appreciated!! I enjoy the hell out of this game, but having all the biters suddenly turn into virals is just a bit much, even for me! Tx again!

What an absolute blunder!
I was about to uninstall the game and ask for my money back. I just bought the game.
Devs, why would you have this on as a default for new players?
