Weapon Upgrades Location???
I thought I would share this location with everyone. It is located in the SouthWest part of the slums map right behind a safehouse. After you have cleared this area once it is not difficult to sneak in from the back and lock-pick the lockers without a fight.

There is a garage with 2 lockers in it. These lockers usually produce weapon upgrades for me. They vary in level and power, but my latest pick was a King. This lcoation will not respawn simply by sleeping, you may have to leave the area and return later.

Map Location:

Enjoy! And please post your results if this works for you (or not). :steamhappy:

I highly doubt that. May also depend on your difficult level.

The vast majority of times that I have opened these lockers they had upgrades in them.

You know, I'm pretty sure it's a thing. For some reason I saw your picture and knew exactly where it was because it was the only time I got a mod from a locker, and that was about a year ago last time I played.

I'll test it out in 2-3 hours for ya when I get home.

I'd appreciate it, Cold...it would be great to have a verification from another player.

So here are my findings:

1st time:
Locker#1 - Wallet, Pouch
Locker#2 - Wallet, Pouch

I tried a few sleep cycles, but forgot containers won't respawn items like that, it only closes the lockers and leaves them unlocked and empty. I tried leaving the area and coming back, still empty. Exiting the game also didn't work. I think containers respawn things similar to how those weapon testing quests work (i.e. come back to Tobias when he has something new for you, type quests). I might have to do some stuff until they respawn, so I'll come back every so often to check. I wanted to do it at least 5 times to test it, but it might take a while. I'll get back to you after a bit of playtime. Ima go farm the Stuffed Turtle for a bit, maybe repeatable quests can trigger a respawn.

This lockers and the ones next to Jaffar's garage are the best for finding weapon mods.
Not always they will have them, but when they do, it's usually good ones.
It seems the lockers are difficulty dependable, at normal difficulty you usually find green and blue ones, at higher is easy to find kings and purples most of the time.
If not you will able to find good cosmetics or wallets in them.

The first time you open them, regardless the difficulty set, chances are you will get a good mod like a king or a bruiser/brawler.

Another good place to scavenge good weapons and mods are the police vans and police cars at the bus station.
Usually there is a crowd of zombies next to them, but nothing a firecracker won't solve. ;)

Ps: Still in love with virals, at nightmare difficulty they are even greater and funny. :steamhappy:

Yeah, I'm always on Nightmare, so I'm hoping I can get a King out of this testing :steamhappy:

Took me about 4-5 side/quests between each visit, before loot was available again.

1st time:
Locker#1 - Coffee
Locker#2 - Cosmetics

2nd time:
Locker#1 - Pouch
Locker#2 - Wallet

:steamsad:

That's all I have the time for tonight. I wonder if extended time is a factor. Maybe if I wait a very long time, better loot can spawn. How long did you wait before checking again? My first time wasn't successful for mods, but the loot was undeniably better than afterwards.

I'll revisit some more tomorrow.

Thanks, folks, for checking this. I am going to be in-game in a few hours and I will check it again...there MUST be a time component or a level component attached to this to make it so consistent for me.

I am sure that the upgrades were there before I started Legend levels; however may not have been there before I maxed out skill trees. I will copy you on what happens.

In the meantime I changed the name of the thread...:steamfacepalm:

Ok, I did go in this morning and test this again. I did it yesterday and got a Berserker and a King. Since then I returned to Old Town, ran a Storyline Mission, and then quit for the night. This mornings results:

Locker 1: Berserker Upgrade
Locker 2: Coffee :steamfacepalm:

Afterwards I slept one day/night cycle and the lockers had not respawned. I then switched maps to Old Town then back again; again no respawn. Clearly there is a time or game progression link.

This is the first time I can remember getting other than 2 upgrades; however, I will change the name of this thread to a suggested location for weapons upgrades rather than a farm since a "farm" needs to be more easily repeatable. There must be a relation to player level or storyline %.

Thanks for the testing help, all.

Started the game at the Holy Mountain Tunnel qzone and checked lockers...still unlocked and empty. Ran to the Safezone by the highway overpass (first zone unlocked in the game) and did the "Psycho Challenge". Picked a few Police Vans on the way back (same day cycle) and opened the lockers without even having to pick them:

Locker 1: Paladin Upgrade
Locker 2: Empty

As I mentioned in another thread recently, I always find better loot in the Slums, mainly because I always work all the garage locker locations. I bet I've gotten at least %25 of my Kings from them. I never miss them. I can think of 3 locations off the top, but I'm sure there's two more.

They're especially good to loot for mods and sellable valuables for cash when you start your first game and really need them.

Exactly...hopefully this thread will help those newer players that need to make those pipes do more than 40 damage :steamhappy:
ColdNhungry Feb 24, 2018 @ 6:36pm
Alrighty, last set of data :steammocking:

Locker#1 - Ciggarettes
Locker#2 - Wallet

Quested..

Locker#1 - Coffee
Locker#2 - Coffee

:steamsad:

My guess at this point is it's most likely higher story progression that spawns better items. Right now, I'm 25-24-22-17 with 22% story completion. I'll keep stopping by every once and a while as I progress. If that doesn't do it then I'm not sure what will.

--------------------------------

So, I did a couple more, got something. Still at same stats all around. I did a few sidequests again, and I'm about to bring the Bolter Tissue to Zere for the Siblings quest atm.

Locker#1 - Enforcer, Crusader
Locker#2 - Coffee

Hum....

And a bit later, just started The Pit, omw there...

Locker#1 - Pouch
Locker#2 - Cosmetics

Well, I guess I'll hold it off till a bit later for now, but there's def something going on :steamhappy:
Poppi !! Feb 24, 2018 @ 6:47pm
Well, I played the Slums today with several visits to each and no Kings, but a lot of Green and several Purple mods. This game does seems to have it's moods. :Top_Secret:
