Steam downloading literally nothing.
Hey, I recently decided to re-download dying light to play with my buddies. everything was going well, until I actually pressed play to launch the game. When I pressed play, the game status was change to updating. I checked the downloads tab and it's trying to re-download the whole game!
I checked the game folder, and to my surprise, there is nothing in the game folder! So I went to Dying light's properties and attempted to verify game files. It's trying to re-download the whole game. So I wait until it's done downloading for the 2nd time, and the same thing happens! where are to files going? Is it even downloading anything or it's just eating my internet up for absolute no reason? I really want to play this game with my buddies but it seems that steam doesn't want to download any of the games. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

ok just trying to cover all bases.. can you create a new library folder in which steam sends downloads to, to see if it makes any difference?

have you tried running steam as administrator? it might be a permissions related issue

I have done that too, no game files seem to appear in the Dying Light folder.

if you do a file search for DyingLightGame.exe on your pc does it come up with any results?
Kerlay Apr 24, 2019 @ 4:21pm
Yes, that i the only result that is coming up. however, it's in a different folder. D:\Steam\steamapps\downloading\239140

that is strange.. how much disk space do you have available on your pc? the download size is usually always smaller than the actual game data size. it might not be able to unpack the download due to low storage space

I have quite bit of space available (450GB)
