Are Night Hunters canon? Here's my opinion. Spoilers for The Following

I believe it is so, if you look at the face of the night hunter it somehow resembles Crane for me (my opinion). Some people think it's not canon because the volatiles run away when a Night Hunter comes but isn't that what a prey would do when they hear their predator? (The volatiles might hear the Night Hunters scream and run seeing as the Night Hunter is the Apex Predator) You also have the ability to kill any zombie you want so maybe the Volatiles already know this and doesn't dare to stand in their way.

When people say that "Aren't you just fighting yourself then?" That's cause your MATCH isn't canon but Night Hunters are. Why would there be a Night Hunter scream instead of a Volatiles scream at the end of The Following? (Non-Nuclear Ending).

But in the end who cares? To some, it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mode, some enjoy the living ♥♥♥♥ out of me (me).
I honestly hope Techland makes a good Co-op zombie mode for Dying Light 2, even the same Night Hunter but just more balanced and maybe a bit more powerful than Humans since they're Apex Predators and have taken over Humans.

I'm just adding real quick but how when the Night Hunter dies a new one just pops up within seconds, this does not make any sense but I think I might know.
There might be multiple waiting for their turn to hunt and if they're a higher form of Sentient Volatiles (Telepathic) then they should be able to distinguise their aura's from such a far away like they do with Humans.

The answer is yes, night hunter is canon, but the game mode is not
