You have to fix the video.scr file of the game with a text editor(I used Sublime Text 3). First, click on your desktop and press Command+Shift+G. In the box that opens up, type "~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Dying Light/DW/out/Settings/Video.scr" (no parentheses). Then open your text editor And drag the video.scr file into the window. This will allow you to edit the file. Using Sublime Text 3, it shows the row numbers, so go line 23 where you'll see Resolution (x, x). You need to change the two values to (1856, 1392). After changing that, press enter to create a new row directly below row 23 and type in Fullscreen(). Save the file and you should be able to open the game without having the black screen problem.
After the game loads, you can change the resolution again and play in whatever resolution you wish to play in. However, after you close the game without changing the resolution back to the default fullscreen setting, you will have to do the text editing thing all over again if you want to reopen the game.
Hi guys, got the exact same problem here but it still not working. How do you got those numbers (1856, 1392) ? Did you get them by some calcule from your own screen resolution ? Or those values should work for every screen resolution ?
Here are my configuration :
(2560 x 1440)
Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 4095Mo
Mac OS version 10.12.3
Thanks for your help :)
