Which bundle is better to buy? They both add some real cool looking skins for Crane and the vehicle skins are dope as hell as well. But what about the weapons/blueprints? Do they add something more or are they just cosmetics?

For new people to this thread: See post #13 before deciding on the pruchase of Volatile Hunter Bundle.

Harran Ranger Bundle will provide craftable elemental arrows, rather than having to unlock them in Bozak Horde. Also, the Ranger Bow can be crafted from early basic ingredients, so it is possible to use from the very beginning.

One bundle has the Heatwave Crossbow, but really, the Ultimate Crossbow will probably be unlocked shortly after HC can be crafted anyway,

The Volatile Hunter Bundle has some blueprints, which you'll be able to use very early, and thier counter-parts aren't available until after leaving the slums, such as the Angel Sword.

Of particular note, is the Volatile Hunter Baton, due to an exploit. Two handed weapons can be crafted into the the VHB, providing a dramatic increase in damage to the one-handed weapon.

Thanks for the detailed response. I've beaten the Bozak's horde numerous times long ago and I've gotten every trick arrow and Bozak's bow. Been using it a lot.

I've also got the legendary blueprints Angel sword, god hammer and bolter's poison which are probably counterparts for the volatile hunter blueprints. Could be wrong.

Not really looking for something to help in the early game as I've just finished a 100% run on hard game+ and I'm gearing to go into nightmare. The things I am looking for are powerful gear and with what you said about that Baton exploit, I think I'll be definitely getting that bundle.

I know this might seem obvious, but what you're saying is that I can take a sledgehammer or a heavy axe and turn it into a one handed weapon with that blueprint?

That's the basic idea, here is a video. I think my best ones to date are 7070; the base damage of the original weapon affects the results.

Oh yeah, make sure to apply the weapon upgrade mods after crafting or you loose them.

My highest damaging current weapon is a Fabulous Iron Hatchet modified with 3 kings and god hammer blueprint, does 3920 damage and this is almost double, damn. Thank you for the information.

Now, I have one more dumb question. When I craft that baton using a two handed weapon and when I apply mods, will it say on the item card that it does 7k damage immediately or is that the combined damage of the weapon and 25 points put into the Legend tree's one handed wep damage?
stcaFylnO Jul 12, 2019 @ 6:41am
With the Legendary points. I have a newer Crane that is only Legendary level 1 or so, and his reflects much less. However, for him and his enemies, it is still obscene. Those L-skills are the large modifiers.

Some examples from a table I've posted before:

........................Surv. 25....Upgrds.....Blprnts.....Both.....25 L-Points.....Upgrds.....Blprnts.....Both
Ranger Bow........400...........500...........~..............~............4400.............5500...........~............~
Katana................1402...........1962.......1854........2595........2804.............3925........3708......5191
1-hand................1402............1962.......1854........2595........2804.............3925........3708......5191
2-hand................1846............2585.......2442........3419........3693..............5171.......4884......6838

The volatile hunter ones are not cosmetic, they add about +50% of damage to your weapons. Vintage gunslinger weapons are purely cosmetic. As for the outfits, they are both awesome. The vintage gunslinger has a cool wild western looking outfit and the volatile hunter has a pretty basic outfit that glows orange at night. Both are great, and they are the two outfits i keep switching back and forth.

Thanks for the review Gaydolf, although I already bought Volatile Hunter and immediately upon crafting a legendary pickaxe into a baton and applying kings I saw the dmg buff and knew I made the right decision. The glow in the dark outfit is just another plus.

Gunslinger bundle is nice and the sheriff outfit along with the buggy are really good looking. But that's about it, that's the wow factor. Someday I'll probably get it as well.

@Malevolence

Hey man, my information is outdated! Check out the following thread for an even better weapon exploit.

Last Hope better than Vault Hunter Baton!? Wow.

Other value in Volatile Hunter Bundle?
I still consider the Volatile Hunter Bundle a good purchase when on sale though. I happen to also love the knife. It provides early access to the double status effects (similar to God Hammer & Angel Sword: fire and shock, tier 2), which boost the damage higher than my other knives; I use them a lot on Nightmare for the low stamina burn (200 Handling), high swing speed to appy status effects, and against Virals' high speed. In the end, having a blueprint similar to God Hammer on a knife is valuable, since it is the only way I know to make this double tier 2 combo.

Example Volatile Hunter Knife:
Damage: 4024 (my best yellow one to date; original Legendary damage was possibly 2173?)
Durability: 112 (original was probably 80)
Handling: 200 (original was probably 113)
Mods: Combination of King/Clicker x3
Blueprint: Volatile Hunter Knife (Fire and Shock, tier 2 each)
Legendary Points: Maxed (25 stacked)
Other Blueprints: Not Applicable

@stcaFylnO

Man, I've seen the thread and I gotta say that has to be the most ridiculous exploit ever, ridiculous in a good way.

So it does the same thing as the Baton in turning a two handed weapon into a one handed, but being Last Hope is a blueprint in itself, and after applying mods you should be done. That insane part is how you can have an additional blueprint on it. Blueprint on top of a blueprint all into a weapon.

The damage buff is great, but the real wth moment is how much are the handling and durability affected. Massive upgrades to the point it could become game breaking. And given it's a docket, everyone can obtain it. For God Hammer blueprint you just need to do a quest in the game too. Easily obtainable.

Idk this might get patched soon.
stcaFylnO Jul 14, 2019 @ 1:42pm
I doubt it will get patched, since all three have been in game for years. It is just hilarious that they can all be combined now. [correction - I meant: Two have been around for years, combining the BPs is new of course]

I ran into a problem with the Surprise MF's version though, since almost everything dies in 1-2 hits, I rarely get to see enemies get punted by the hidden Impact effect :D
