Way to make the game harder?
As title, is there a way to make this game harder without limiting ourselves to self-imposed handicaps? I was reading a Kotaku's article about that, but i often found self-imposed handicaps to be silly.

I have already found a mod that removes the HUD, and the nightmare mode seems intriguing. I will start playing this game right today after leaving the office.

Is there any mod that limits the number of collectibles in your inventory, or some minor change that accomplishes in making the game more rewarding?

Thank you

I personally don't use medkits and upgraded / crafted weapons, that is how I like to play (Mostly). Unless it's invasions.

There's 3 mechanics that affect the overall difficulty.

1. NG+, I've explained it here - http://dyinglight.wikia.com/wiki/New_Game_%2B
2. Difficulty.
3. Story %.

If you combine all of this, the outcome will be hell. The normal weapons you find without upgrades or crafting will take around 10+ basic hits to kill a normal biter, assuming you have 25 Survivor skill-tree and full support from Legend skill-tree on the current type of melee weapon you're using. Also, the unlimited stamina from Power and Agility skill-trees no longer work on Nightmare mode, forcing you to micromanage it by drinking boosters for effective combat.

For best combat efficiency on Nightmare Game + at 100% story, you need best possible weapons, ones that are obtained at Survivor skill-tree rank 25 and with support from Legend skill-tree, also they'll need upgrades and blueprints, now keep in mind that weapons break down quickly, draining your cash, upgrades and materials if you're not looting.

Also, you can already disable HUD in game so you won't need to use mods for that. You can disable crosshair as well.

Don't worry, the difficulty remains way ahead even for maxed out character at Nightmare Game + (100% story), you'll have real hell winning against evolved volatiles.

I was just looking at a mod on ModDB.com today that seems very promising. Damned if I can recall the name ( sorry ), but it's the only one completed if you do a site search.

Quite a massive overhaul ~ weapons, TOD cycles, monetary system zombie AI, etc., with two modes ~ Casual and Survivor. Survivor looks to be right along the lines your looking for. I'll post the link a bit later if you haven't the time to look it up.

Ive been a member of the site and several teams for years and this guy's pretty solid. Looking forward to playing this after my current NG+ run. I'd appreciate it if you let me know what you think of it.The " Ultimate Survivor " looks pretty challenging ( I'm only hoping he doesn't have non-stop Virals )

I'm thinking about making a mod (if possible) to make it harder so am interested in hearing other peoples views on it

Play on nightmare and only use guns after a certain level.

Why anyone would want to increase the "difficulty" in this game is beyond me. As far as I can tell there is basically zero skill involved. You smack around the zombies with melee weapons until they die and try to not let any grab you while you are doing so. When fighting the bigger guys with the rebar+cement block they can basically knock you on the ground even if they swing in the complete opposite direction of you because the physics in this game are retarded. I've been trying to figure out why people like this game mechanics-wise and I have to say I think the only reason this game isn't widely known as total trash is because of the decent parkour and the immersion of the set & setting. The gunplay is weak as hell as well. Really getting sick of not feeling like I have any real agency and only having level ups as a way to improve the experience rather than also actually being able to just outplay the enemy.

Bro you don't need a mod to remove the HUD it's in the settings.
