How do I get the bow?

I got this game on sale like 2 days ago and yesterday I heard there was a bow that you get from the quartermaster. I haven't got any bow from him yet though. Does it depend on your survivor rank? My survivor rank is 8, if you're wondering.

EDIT: Also, I bought the edition that has every DLC if that matters.

I got no bow from the Quartermaster. I had to go and buy one from a shop. Never saw the quartermaster ever give one out.

There's only 3 bows in the game.

1. (Worst and weakest bow, move to using other bows soon as possible.) Default bow, obtained by purchasing from vendors after being above Survivor skill-tree rank 9.

2. Bozak bow, obtained by finishing all the Bozak Horde trials. The Bozak Horde is DLC, and it comes with Enhanced Edition, as well as season pass. You have it, since you bought Enhanced Edition as mentioned in your edit.

3. Ranger bow, pretty much same as Bozak, but has very, very slightly higher damage, which isn't noticeable at all. Obtained from purchasing Harran Ranger DLC. The Harran Ranger DLC doesn't come with Enhanced Edition and neither season pass. This DLC is purchased separately, which isn't necessary since you have Bozak Horde.

Should I get the Harran Ranger DLC or just get the Bozak bow? If it's the Bozak bow can anybody help me do whatever you have to do to get it. By the way, my mic broke, so I can't speak.

You don't have to, the Ranger bow's damage isn't noticeable at all compared to Bozak bow. I can help with getting it, if you add and contact me about it as I've mentioned at the end of my previous comment.

I obtained the Bozak bow and honestly, it doesnt feel all that powerful compared to the effort you have to go through to get it. (To be fair, I am playing on Nightmare NG+).
It is a good bow, works great, but I preffer the crossbow from The Following.


Side question, does the Bow upgrade in the Legend tree affect crossbow damage?

Bozak Horde can only be played on Normal mode. Bow is faster, does more damage than crossbow and is far more effective against faster and moving enemies especially from close range, for example biters or virals. Example below:

And yes, the Bows skill in Legend skill-tree affects the crossbows too.

That is true, it does fire faster, but it only does more damage with good mods on it. You get 15 bolts when you craft instead of 8 arrows. Both have their own perks, but for sniping heads, the crossbow works better.

Bozak bow does have the penetraing attack too though, but that has only made me loose arrows.

I guess I'll keep carrying both, it's situational really.

And my Nightmare comment wasnt reffering to Bozak. More so to the bow's effectiveness in-game at that difficulty.

I never needed to craft neither arrows nor bolts, they can be easily picked up again. Don't zoom while shooting with bow and arrows won't penetrate zombies.

I know, I don't zoom with the bow due to that effect. Had me confused at first until I learned it's a thing. And honestly, I can just buy arrows from stores if I ever find myself unable to recover them.
