Normal Dying Light doesn't include any DLC.

Dying Light Enhanced Edition will contain The Following, Bozak Horde and other DLC.

Enhnaced Edition is a must buy.

Dying Light - The Following is only the DLC The Following. You need the base game for that aswell, it's not standalone. As the others have said I would recommend the Enhanced edition though since it contains all important DLC (including the following) and the base game.

Additionally I'll just say that The Following is for once a great piece of DLC. It's basically an expansion, a whole new big area with lots of quests and content. If you like Dying Light, you'll want The Following.

If I already own Dying Light, do I need to buy The Following – Enhanced Edition to get all those extras or do I just go for the season pass to get all the DLC?

To answer that question first I have to know which Dying Light you own. Is it Original? Either from buying it long ago before Techland released EE/Following or you bought it from store recently and you don't own season pass? If so, then you should get season pass as it's cheaper. Sesaon pass will give you The Following and Bozak Horde which are must have DLC.

If you mean vanity based DLC in "Extras", such as Gun Psycho, Harran Ranger, Volatile Hunter, Vintage Gunslinger and White Death, then no, neither sesaon pass nor Enhanced Edition will contain these, this DLC are bought separately and are unnecessary.

the following is an example of an excellent dlc expansion. it gives you a whole new, massive map to explore, with a nice new story, several quests (more or less equivilant to old town), a whole new skill tree (2 sort of), a new weapon damage type (cold), a new weapon (xbow), butloads of new crafting recipees, bossmonsters, skins, and a friking dune buggy you can drive around and upgrade. all in all, it is 100% worth the money, but even better to get as part of the package deal others have mentioned above. you lauch it as a separate game of sorts from the main menu, but is uses whatever save file you choose for it (keeping all your inventory and skills from the main campaign), allowing you to load back and forth between the main game and the dlc at will. in many ways the following is my favorite part of the game.
