50 fps no matter what settings I change? [SOLVED]
Hello. My specs are:
- Nvidia geforce GTX 1070
- AMD FX-8370 Eight core processor
- 16 GB ram
- 144 Hz monitor / 1TB HDD

My problem:
Highest, lowest or medium whatever settings, Im always at ~50-55 FPS outside.
Inside buildings I have 150+
especially "Old town" or "Area 0" is doing this to me.
View distance 0% everything off or low = 50 fps WITH A ♥♥♥♥ING GTX 1070??!

Yes, I have newest Nvidia drivers installed, already tried old drivers, didnt work.
Please help!

you mean that giant massive coloss of a box that would never fit in my PC and is way to complicated to install. you have to like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ take out your motherboard.
Check your mobo's mounting plate, it might have an open hole at the rear of the CPU-socket so mounting 'exotic' coolers should be a bit easier than that (I run an AIO liquid cooler (Corsair H45) for my hexaspud just for the hell of it).

But I wouldn't worry if I were you about the current temps you're getting. Think it was higher than 70 which would be a problem for your CPU, and I've seen my FX6300 hit 206 C under full load with a stock cooler due to an error on my part (and it's still fine), which leads me to this potential fix/question, did you reapply thermal paste when you reseated your current cooler on the new CPU?

Apparently that wasnt as much the case during his purchase of the 1070 to go with such a poor CPU.

i had same problem with my 8120 back in the awesome, ... so its CPU bottlenech and .. well software not using all cores.. maybe??
after i upgraded to 4690k my self i got frames to pretty much 100-120 :D
4690k @ 4.4Ghz
r9 Fury Nitro @ Stock
so yeah you should upgrade CPU instead of GPU :I at least in the future

it could be nvidia experience limiting the fps output make sure to check the profil settings as well as the game optimizaton settings.

Well that's odd...150 fps in building for you OP? I'm actually getting 50 fps in them instead (tried to used Nvidia Inspector to force Dying Light to have 120hz, no luck it seems), an Intel Core i7 user here, but with the same OS as OP and GTX980m

P.S: I find it ridiculous that this game still has optimization issues compared to a well rounded 2005 game that's already been reincarnated, and it still runs 120 fps NO PROBLEM.

Upgraded from i5 to i7 and got major fps increase.
i7 4790k clocked to 4.6 with a gtx 980 at 3440x1440p resolution everything ultra/ maxed out and 60-150fps all day.
playing at lower resolutions the game will depend more on the CPU there is your bottleneck. with that gtx 1070 being a beast your good but maybe a cpu issue holding back the power of the GPU

That must be why, tchhh...seems like Dying Light doesn't even prefer Intel AND AMD core users at all then.

No idea either, OP said that this was related to an OS and CPU problem, OS I can understand since some games could NEVER run properly with a modern system, especially if they're older than a decade...but a CPU? This game literally has that problem going with it and there's no end to this capped 50 at all, why let players play if they can just get mind-boggled by a low framerate? Seems like a logical conclusion to keep playing for a very modern game.
