NVIDIA 1070 GTX low fps?? [Solved]

hey guys, I have a new GTX 1070 and I have 40 fps on high settings?! is this normal? I can barely play the game this is awful.
please help

My Specs: Kfa2 Nvidia GTX 1070, AMD FX-8370 Eight core 4.2GHz processor, 16 GB ram, 1 TB HDD, 144Hz monitor

from now I think DL is better optimized with intel cpu(I have i5 6600k).your gpu is way better than mine and I play 1080p 60fps 99% of the time(rarely drops to 58/59),with high settings,max distance,all others settings on exept AA,motion blur and film grain.(gpu oc 1438/1916)

that seems like bs to me. ive read many other forums saying this CPU does NOT bottleneck whatsoever and works fine like an i5 6500 or so

I stil think its strange. 40fps is really bad.
But im out.
Some of your options are.

Check cpu\gpu usage, like i asked several times about....
Check background programs?
Try a older driver, dont know if you tried that.
Buy a new cpu. You can buy my old 965, it performed 60fps + in this game. :P
Or play the game at 40 fps.

your fx4100 is the case. look at required specs for the game. nice you have one of the newest graphics cards but an lodie processor there thats the bumb in the road.

He upgraded to the fx8370. Love how people actually read the thread first.

I do not see those drops using an 8350 and a gtx970, I am on max setting apart from god rays which are on medium and getting 58-60 pretty much everywhere, even in the old town.

I went into geforce experience, "Optimized" overwatch and now it runs on MAX settings 80-100 fps. alright thats pretty good to be honest. is that good fps for a 1070 at these settings?

Compared to the general speeds of the 1070 vs a 970 I would say your getting about right now :)

well.. not really. Dying Light not more than 55 fps or so on high settings still

cause its still your cpu whats causing it;) look for game requirements and see that it stats for everything above minimum the fx8350 or something like that. i have the 8320 4kernels/8threads 3.5/4.2ghz and get 60 fps straight with gtx970 8gb ram at 1080 and everything at max.

oh yeah minimum it states cpu amd fx 8320 and required 8350 and you have fx4100? so yep it cant keep up with the graphs card and the techs of the game
