Finding Gold Weapons. Can anyone offer advice?

Can anyone tell me if I am doing anything wrong? I have been farming well over 100 hard locked and GRE chests in Nightmare mode and have not found 1 gold tiered (yellow) weapon.

Here is some info. on my current game. I am in Old Town and about 53% done with the story started from a new game and character. I have Survivor, Agility and Power maxed and am Legend level 34.

Am I missing something (other than golds)? Am I only able to find gold tier weapons after completing the base game (not Following)? Or have I just not been very lucky?
Any feedback, help and/or comments would be appreciated?

Being not sure i think gold weapon chances are fcked up after last patch. I mean ive literally spend 30 or more hours just wandering and picking every hard or above cars chests even i did over 80 stuffed turtle yet 0 gold weapons. It shouldn't be like that the chance to find gold weapons in nightmare is 1% i shouldve got at least 7-8 by now

Bozak dockets and invasions are the best ways to get gold weapons. For invasions you have to be at least rank underdog to receive golds.

Well it's nice to know that your odds of scoring a gold weapon ( at any difficulty ) in the main campaign have become so rediculously low, it isn't worrth the bother of rying to farm for them at all. Orange are just fine and refurbishing your favorites means you can keep them as long as they're practical to use.

You've been unlucky a bit, but you're not using the best method of earning gold tier weapons, there are 4 methods, and you're using the least one.

1. Bozak Dockets, 3 gold tier weapon in 20 minutes.

2. Invasions, 1 gold tier weapon in ~6-25 minutes, rarely 2. However, only fantasy tier, these have limited categoried, example no machete, no sickle and etc.

3. Be on Nightmare, night time and loot police vans, GRE chests, hard chests or towers in countryside.

4. Wait for Techland(Possibly weeks/months) for Premium Docket code, 1-3 weapons.

1 being the best, 4 worst.

I don't even care about gold tier...I honestly don't. I have one ~ one short knife I like for drop kills. What's the draw ?

Well, IMHO gold tiers are overrated. You don't really need them, but shure: it's nice to have.
Have to second that: BOZAK (and Invasion) are the way to go.
I'm looting as hell, but in over 700h I never found a gold tier ingame (from a chest, etc.).

But I do a few BOZAK runs every week.

Haha, right. There's not a huge difference between damage comparing orange and gold tier weapons, the durability and repairs are however excellent with gold tier weapons, but, obtaining orange weapons are much easier, so even the durability and repairs aren't a big deal.

It's just awesome to have your personal liked skin/type weapons in gold tier.

I've personally found around 4-5 gold tier weapons from one of the GRE chests in Stuffed Turtle, I even have artwork for it, anyone can see it, there's screenshot too but it's obviously got buried in hundreds of it.

Hell yeah, after seeing your screenshot you're only other person I have seen who uses a pump action shotgun.

Bozaks gold tier weapons are pretty useless. 60% of them is two handed useless weapons that ill never use. 25% of them is being knife i dont like to use them too. I want to use special named gold weapons like gonunaba loco blade of the order etc or at least gold.machetes. ive only got the machete after hundreds of bozak dockets by now and its not worth it. Im not looking for any gold weapons. Im looking for the spesific ones and i gotta tell you. Loot chances arent the same after the last patch. I did find so many gold weapons back then. Pvp is the most hated mode by me i just hate the unbalanced laggy and buggy game. I think personal preferences are playing a big role for finding what kind of gold ppl want.

That is absolutely not true. You just are simply not trying enough.

While two handed weapons and knives have highest chance, there are times when I rarely get these weapons, and mostly it's sickle/hatchet/hammer from Bozak dockets. I got many great weapons from Bozak dockets.

I never have laggy or buggy matches, unless it's the opponent with slow internet or connection issues.

While it is unbalanced, 1vs1 being slightly unfair to humans, 2vs1 being slightly unfair to hunter, 3vs1 being unfair to humans and 4vs1 being unfair to hunter, invasions are still a lot of fun playing with friends.

While I have no problems with your personal hate towards the invasions, I get it, it can be difficult/frustrating against experienced player while you've not enough experience to have fun match, or not enough friends to play, you'd most likely grow up disliking it. I disagree with uselessness of Bozak dockets, they're definitely not useless if you know how to use them.

Before the Content #0 "patch", I had found 2 Skullmace, Blade of Order, Gonunuba and Battle axe.
Since the patch over 180 hours of searching Police vans, hard lock boxes, GRE boxes, every quarantine zone and those Very hard boxes in old town I have found Nothing! (Except a ton of Kings)
No, you do not "need" golds to get the job done and you can do Bozak or invasions but for me it was fun searching and finding them as I leveled up my character.

Someone uploaded a 100% nm save on here that is unmodded and has hundreds of gold weapons.

I completed the game on nightmare and farmed hundreds of chests and towers and some vans but could never get gold weapons to drop so I used the above save to mess around. I got tired of gold weapon farming.

As far as I remember the Radio Boy and Dahlia quests are bugged in the above save. You will have to start a new game and play through the main campaign and the following as well if you want to complete those two quests but you won't have to farm weapons that never drop.
