Can't find any matches in online public

Hello good people who also plays Dying light. I just bought this and I understand you need to pass the prologue in order to be able to play Co-op. Whenever I go to matchmaking screen and try to find any matches, there are none to be found. I have tried playing at all times of day (real time not in-game time) and still can't find anyone.
Right now I'm at 8% in the mission, I read somewhere that matchmaking limits the the results to people with more or less the same progress as you. But still It's very dissapointing to not be able to find any matches at all.

I've made my game public, even turned VAC off and set everything in online options to be able to match with as much people as I can. The game does tell me I have moderate nat but I haven't had problems with my nat settings in years.

Anyone else encountered this issue or at least knows what could be happening?.

Try changing the search from matched to something like quest or number of people.. Even ping can yield more results

Matches you find depend on many factors. It's common thing that NAT settings are ruining Dying Light's matchmaking system, the way it's built there may be hundreds of matches but you'll only see few, sadly.

Simply progress further into story and you should start seeing more matches.

One thing I recommend, keep on toggling VAC on and off occasionally, because a game may appear with VAC off and you may not see it due to having it on. Also try finding matches from all difficulties, for example if you're seeing no matches on Hard mode, try Normal or Nightmare, most people play on Normal mode from what I see often.

Besides the story progression, VAC and NAT, what can affect matchmaking from what I know are your region, ping and difficulty.

You can change difficulty from Main Menu > Play > Campaign > Save > Advanced, just don't have Bozak Hord or DLC quarantine zone tracked as quest or difficulty and other certain options won't appear.

I'm stuck fighting the Demolisher in the Pit in my campaign and can't kill him. So I jump in another person's game and realize the only gear I have is the gear they gave me to fight in the pit lol.

Check your stash in any safe zone.
There are a few Missions, where you get nacked. All your gear moves to the stash then.

thanks for the info! Now if I can just magically kill this boss holding me up...
