I've got Dead Island and played it quite a bit. I haven't run into any major glitches or issues with the game, I'd say it's far from broken. I also haven't seen anything serious in this game as far as bugs or glitches. Maybe on launch, or before the first few patches, but I've had no major issues that I can recall with either one. At least the issue the OP had is not something that stays broken.
At least bugged achievements don't affect gameplay! :)
Yeah, I can see that.
I honestly don't understand achievement chasers... I guess it appeals to some people more than others, but I was around when Steam didn't have achievements and the games were still engaging and fun.
It's like some people can't simply play a game and enjoy the content without constantly getting praised in the form of achievements. It's a psychological thing that likely hooks certain people, or keeps them playing and buying more and more games. Must be the same people who got participation trophies for showing up to soccer practice...
I'm in no way OCD or compelled to, nor do I seek praise. For some people it's simply satisfying.
Ok that's gotta be the guy by the stuffed turtle, Nick or deuche, or something... I *protected* him twice, never bugged for me. He's useleess though. Personally I only do the ones that refurbish weapons, after I totally wreck a gold weapon. Few of those around, like 3-4.
A few do bug out everytime though, like there was this guy in a train car, I've seen the guy 3 times, accepted the protection quest twice, all 3 times he just fell through the floor and died as soon as he left the train car. (edit: Forgot to mention, that one time he was stuck under the train car trying to get up, hit his head and fall back down... till he died. That was funny)
Btw when you're protecting an npc, they run around do their thing, you just gotta stay close enough to them so they keep moving. You keep em alive, that's it. Too bad you can't stick some needles in em, use bandages n stuff... Sometimes they run into so many zombies as if they're trying to get killed.
