I'm creating this information thread due to the excessive amount of people asking this question, so people can refer to this if needed.

If you see someone asking this question, link them to this thread to save time and avoid having to repeat the answer all over again.

Dying Light is simply the base game, that does not include any paid DLC. It includes free updates (such as the ones from 10 in 12 campaign) and content released to the base game only.

Dying Light Enhanced Edition includes the base game, plus everything that the Season Pass includes, plus the Crash Test Skin Pack, but excludes Harran Ranger, Gun Psycho, Volatile Hunter, White Death and Vintage Gunslinger DLC packs. This package is for those who want to get both the game and the contents of the Season Pass in a single package and for a better deal than both separately.

If you already own the base game, buy the Season Pass to acquire the rest of the major DLC packs. The Season Pass includes the following DLC packs:
- The Following;
- Bozak Horde;
- Ultimate Survivor Bundle;
but DOES NOT include these packs:
- Crash Test Skin Pack;
- Harran Ranger Bundle;
- Gun Psycho Bundle;
- Volatile Hunter Bundle;
- White Death Bundle;
- Vintage Gunslinger Bundle;

Thanks for the info, this pretty map clears up the confusion for me when I checked the store page a few minutes ago. I might just pick this up including all DLC. Maybe as gift for a friend as well. Haven't played a decent zombie game since Dead Island.

Does that mean if my friend gets the normal edition, and i get the enhanced edition, we can still play together?
Like is it considered a totally different version of the game?
Or does it just come bundled with some extra stuff?

Nope, there is nothing "free" about the content added in the Enhanced Edition. Read the head-post again.

Both core versions are the same, so you and your friend will be able to play the base game and the main story together.

THX for the info, i hate the way "season pass" for games these days gives very little info on what you're getting.
if the game was 75% i'd get it but since you don't get ALL the dlc i'll pass for now.
i did want it pretty bad when it came out but backlogged with lots of games to play.

thanks I now know which content I cant buy on steam since I bought the game and the season pass on retailer.

any possibility to get the missing 4 DLC? are there retailer keys as well for that? any bought those if they exist?

They probably exist in other retail stores, yes. Might be worth to look at Humble Store, or Nuuvem. Both are authorized retailers that sell only legit keys.
