Volatile Nest clearing
Hi,

I have read online that to clear the volatile nest/hives in The Following you go in and kill the volatiles embedded in the floor. I have done this several times with two different nests but they never get marked as clear or disappear from the map.

In each I have found three of the floor based volatiles, I kill them then leave but nothing happens.

Is there anything else that needs to be done? I understand there is one nest that requires you to blow up a train tunnel but that isn't one I have tried yet.

cheers

j

you need to have the specific quest activated and start with the nest the quest shows. after that you can clean the other nests.
if not that, it means you leave while not all floor volatiles killed. you have an indication when the last volatiles is dead, then you can leave the nest.

Thanks, I haven't cleared any nests related to quests so that must be it.

Down The Rabbit Hole – is the quest name i think. you have it by reading the notification board on Jasir's Farm

You don't have the kill the Volatiles. You must destroy the nest spawns. ;-)

i think he knows that as he calls them the volatiles embedded in the floor.

You need to make sure that you actually killed all of them. The game doesn't really tell you how many more are there, so walk around. Check above, as well. I encountered quite a few nests above the "ground level"

Once you kill the last Volatile Spawn, the area on the minimap will turn grey. You don't need to leave first.

Spam Survivor Sense, it may detect some areas still full of enemies.
