Why are zombies white colored in the beginning, but later have other skin colors?
In the beginning of the game, zombies are white and can have missing arms, but later in the game, zombies have different skin colors and never have any lost limbs. Are there any reasons why this happened?

Yes, as story progresses tougher type of regular zombies appear. In the beginning you'll see pale skinny males that are weak and easy to kill.

I didn't even notice that! Thanks, Blade. I try and stay on top of my weapons and my grinding, so I suppose they seemed to be scaling at the right difficulty with my survivor level.. I did notice a lot more of the highly annoying charging athsmatic ones, though. So ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ irritating.

They scale to story progression, difficulty and NG+, or everything at the same time, but not to your skill-trees.
