Where to get ammo?

Playing story mode on hard. Dealers sell guns and arrows, but not ammo? So where u get ammo?

You may need to level up I just dont know up to what. Im playing nightmare, and my dealers have all the ammo I need.

there isnt ammo you can buy from sellers in hard mode
normal and nightmare mode yes but not hard mode
otherwise by buying the gun itself you will get ammo too

Ok thanks , kinda stupid got guns , but cant buy ammo . normal is too easy and nightmare maybe too hard.

You can also sometimes find ammo or firearms in police vans or in the trunk of police cars.
If you have the Following DLC, a great way to stock up on ammo is by looting military ammo crates.

Why? Did they figure nightmare is too hard and needed the ammo?

@flybye because in nightmare melee weps become near useless add in gameplus and melee has no reason to exist it's bows or guns until you get a crossbow in the dlc.

Well unless you like hitting a plain zombie 20-30 times with a damage 2,000 sword.

Nope, melee weapons aren't useless in nightmare mode.

I use melee only on Nightmare :) except against Rais's men.
Try to shot and you'll regret it on this mode, lots of runners will track you, and if it's night all the specials then rip.

As long as you have the ability to sprint and grappling hook, you'll be fine.

Also bow/crossbows are perfect weapon choices on nightmare mode.

play nightmare, its pretty difficult but with some quick stuffed turtle farming you can get to a decent level and farm police vans for good weapons

Actually, Ive been jump killing Rais's men! One kill to the head and done. And I am ALSO in nightmare mode.

What I have been spamming a lot of are the kick to the head and the jump kill in Nightmare. With a bit of patience Ill get on a car and kill the zombies one by one with the head kick.

Vendors will not sell ammo of guns on hard mode, only normal/nightmare, despite anything.

You can switch to nightmare, buy ammo and switch back to hard, this way you won't lose (Rewards) if you was worried about this.

You can also get ammo by buying guns from vendors and dropping it, or find it in police cars/vans.

He's talking about playing on Hard Mode not Normal Mode.

Ammo is pretty hard to find in the original story on Hard Mode, I've searched over a dozen police vans/cars and haven't found any yet. The only place I've found ammo so far was in Dawud's pawn shop during the "Gunslinger" quest. One way to get a small amount of ammo is to buy a gun from a shop, that will give you however many rounds are in that gun's magazine.
