Best way to increase driver slills?

I seem to by nearing the end of the quests in The Following yet am only on level 6 for driving.
There is a long way to go before I get the electric cage, What should I be doing to quickly increase these skills?

Fields of Zombies, Just run though them. Find another Field and Repeat. Or just drive around as fast as you can (Night if you can handle it.)

+ co op partners will grant you increased xp gain, more = better.

hop in a field and run over zombies.. when you kill all of them, rinse and repeat

Best way? I'd say it's done when you enjoy playing The Following without worrying about it.

But simply running over zombies should do it fairly quickly.

OK. Running over zombies it will be. I have been trying to run over that bolter but am unable to as the moment I close in on it it changes direction and I have to turn thereby loosing ground.

Use Electric Cage skill, it's a buggy weapon, all you have to do is get close to bolter and then activate Electric Cage, it has some range and will knock out bolter easily.

A couple tips; Drive at night - points are nearly doubled. Going over ramps is an easy 100 points. Backing up over enemies is extra points too.

I have just killed it by simply sneaking up on it and I threw a tomahawk while is was standing still about two yards away from me.

Try to aim for the achievement where you are supposed to run over 500 zombies. It is fun and at the same time you get points.

You want to do jumps, fast driving and kill some zombies early, however, do not overdo it with running over zombies as it will excessively damage your buggy until you install protective cage.

Best way to increase driving skill tree early is to do driving challenges. First, grab at least blue buggy parts from NPC that sells them from a truck on a highway. You can easily do easy or medium difficulty challenges with blue parts. You can even try hard ones but some of them will be difficult to complete unless you are very skilled (and some impossible until you get best pieces no matter how skilled you are).

Once you get protective cage upgrade, max for best results, you can start mass zombie slaughter on fields around Jasir farm. Continue doing challenges, hard one earns you 5k points.
