How to equip picked up Weapons?

So I'm here trying to get some stuff for Rais or something, and I've picked up many weapons like hammers and stuff, but now all my weapons are broken and I can't seem to find an option to equip my new/better weapons. How do I do this?

With your inventory open you'd want to select the weapon by double clicking it, or pressing enter, which should automatically transfer your highlighted selection over to the right, top column, which has four slots for the four weapons you can have equipped. Items in your inventory are all held in the left column, with weapons on top, then equipment and materials and such.

If you're using the weapon wheel the first slot is top, second is right, third is bottom, and fourth is the left slot. The four slots below those four on the right hand side are your equipment slots for things like molotovs, grenades, grappling hook, shield, UV flashlight, throwing weapons, etc.

If you use controller, I am sorry but I don't know the controls on that, but I assume there should be a button for selecting items, I'd figure A.

The equipping is a bit wierd on PC at least

I think it should work like this
- Select the weapon you want to equip in your backpack (left side of inventory screen)
- Press Enter
- Click on the slot on the right side of the inventory screen to which you want to equip the weapon to

Also, if I am not mistaken, if you want to replace an equipped weapon out of the menu then when you are looting a new weapon hold the looting button for longer time and it will throw your current equipped weapon to the ground and equip the item that you are looting instead.

You should also be able to directly drop all the useless items through your inventory screen.

I missed that in my reply, yeah if you hold down F to pick up the item, it will drop your currently held one and replace it with the weapon you are looking at. Instead of dropping broken weapons it's in your best interest to either sell them for money or dismantle them with Z in order to gain a metal part for each dismantled weapon. One free repair for every broken weapon.

Just open the inventory menu and on the bottom left you'll see action options - drop, dismantle, equip, etc.. Always dismantle broken weapons for metal parts. Good to have.
