Do zombies respawn ?

I have been trying to do the 'Bright Mountain Tunnel'. But the zombies in there are extremely devastating. And they just keep coming. I move 2 steps forward, i get attacked by 3 insanely powerfull zombies, i am forced to retreat all the way back to the exit. When i kill them, i try to move forward again, but then more zombies come at me and once again force me to retreat. And this have repeated like 10 times and i basically didnt get anywhere and i completely used up all 5 weapons that i had (repaired them all 3 times too)...

These zombies are so powerfull that they take like ~10 headshots each... It's insane. So yeah, i want to know if zombies eventually stop or am i wasting time there?

You just have to clear enough to move, get in get out and move on. The bridge is a good example. I don't believe they respawn for a few minutes, but more will keep coming to you drawn to any activity. The bow is handy for slow clearing big groups.

How am i supposed to do that ? I only have pipes and wrenches, no ranged weapons of any kind. A single weapon lasts just enough to kill 3-4 zombies. I spend like a minute killing 1 because they are super tanky. And when more than one runs at me at the same time, i have to run away, climb on the train vagon, which is the only thing in that tunnel, and basically cheese it by hitting them on the head when they try to climb up to reach me...

And i have been doing it for like 30 minutes untill i ran out of weapons...

Early game just run. Later in the game clearing areas will be easier. When you're first starting out, remember that you can use distractions to get zeds away from you. Firecrackers usually last just long enough to loot a car if you're quick about it. If you have to clear an area, loot for weapons. They are easy to find in garbage cans. Carry a ton of them and dismantle the useless ones when you find a better one. Use your player's stash to hoard them, and sell them when you have enough better weapons.

I agree with Zesty, if you're still having a hard time you could always have someone help you clear the tunnel on Co-op. Or, you could do other missions until you have better weapons. I highly recommend looking around for police vans (in clear areas), and picking the locks, this will yield a few better weapons.

If you need a gun, you can get it at anytime in a shack near the ocean. Just look up German gun dyling light location on google. This might be useful against the virals in the tunnels.

Seems like everyone misunderstood your question OP, it's a quarantine zone, with objective to kill all zombies there - so no, they don't respawn. However, there are tons of zombies in this quarantine and seeing you only having basic wrenches and pipes you are very undergeared for quarantine zones (and this one is much harder than most zones too)

I'm not sure. My main objective is to collect 5 packages, i know that. But it didnt say anything about killing zombies.

If you can't do it, that means you're not ready for that zone yet, do side missions for now and come back after you get better skills and weapons.

If I remember correctly, zombies(Viral type) keep coming(Spawning) until you grab one certain package.

But no, not all of them respawn.


Exiting the zone will completely reset it, therefore respawning every single zombie. As quarantine zones can be replayed infinitely.

That is some very sound advice. Spend some time exploring, looting and working your skill trees until your in a better posistion to take on tougher missons. Your just gonna get trashed and frustrated if you jump in and strictly follow the storyline. Also, get after those airdrops - it's not as hard as it initially seems and it pays off well.

Get out into the streets and have some fun !

i dont know about ya all but i am here for like 2 hours havent died once and the only reason i am alive with 25 hp right now is cause i have the stomper ability that breaks the heads of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ runners while trying to climb...i've gone from lvl 13 to lvl 16...i am pretty sure they are respawing cause there is no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ way...i get it...its hard dif...but killing like 20-30 every minute and being here for 2 hours is not a real number of zombies...even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ left 4 dead would have run out of zombies

Yeah the virals popping out of thin air gets very annoying.

To the OP topic, this being 2 years he probably solved the problem now. But zombies in quarantines differ based on difficulty.

I don't know how obvious it is on normal. But on nightmare the difference between zombies outside and inside a hard quarantine(say stuffed turtle) is MASSIVE, its literally 1-4 hits compared to 1-14. There are zombies in these quarantine that are loaded with more health than goons(or it feels like).
