Zombies have almost ZERO higher-level brain functions; their behavior and actions are dictated by residual and deteriorating animal instincts; zombies are pretty easy for a human to out-wit—start with pretending that zombies are American high school graduates (I can say that; I'm an American educated in ante-9/11 West Germany), and you'll begin to understand.
Humans are tougher because their brains are mostly working properly.
