That would be awesome I would love to play NES Final Fantasy III, As well as SNES Final Fantasy IV.
Also why they don't port the mobile version of Final Fantasy Tactics? I bet it could be easy.
And while they are at it all the Dragon Quest saga ported to steam would be another great choice since they are on iOS android.
Wanting to re-play Dragon Quest VIII: JOTCK, it's on iOS/Android too.

I would by both... just sayin
1 and 2 have aged terribly compared to the rest of the series and I don't believe the demand is high at all compared to other entries. It's not like we didn't get both for PSX/GBA and PSP. Now available at ios! How much work it is to port over to steam, I dunno...
But these 2 have plenty of ports as it is, they are outdated and not many would care.
For the record, I love FF1 but I hate FF2 - still, I have them on PSX hard copy as well as PSP and ios. I will surive.
I own the GBA port of FF1 & 2 and as a HUGE fan of NES FF1 I can tell you that they made it way way too easy.
Off the top of my head for FF1 GBA:
Increased XP and gold per fight. Sounds good, right? Not really because you'll quickly be overleveled and overequipped for the part of the game you're on at any given time. This leads to boredom and is not what FF is all about!
Pheonix Downs. These were a terrible addition to FF1 GBA. Being able to buy these at any shop causes what makes a White Mage (and to a lesser extent, the Red Mage) special from the other classes.
Ethers. Just like Pheonix Downs, this just makes things too easy. Being able to refill MP on the go over having to go back and stay at an inn (or use a house) sounds convienient but it makes it blah because of my next point.
Spell Charges changed to MP. To me, FF1 was all about the strategy- When I went into the Marsh Cave with 2 charges of LIT2 on my Black Mage it was intense because I knew I'd have to try and save the spells for the wizard fight at the bottom for the crown. Now with way WAY too many MP, I can cast 40 LIT2 spells all day long and again it's just too easy. FF1 was never about being able to steamroll everything in your path IMO.
They took the worst class from FF1 (thief) and made him almost too good. Balance correction doesn't mean making a previously terrible class and turning him into an OP character of destruction. Having a thief with 4 hits per attack at friggin' Elfland is not how it's supposed to be.
The bonus dungeons are the only challenging part of the game now, and only because they went the 'cheap' route and gave all the optional bosses a billion HP. That's not how you increase challenge, that's the easy way out. These could have been special but it feels tacky to me.
I'm sure there's more, but you get the gist. The only version of FF1 I'd ever play over the original is the PS1 version, which fixes some of the glaring bugs present in the NES game and improves upon everything else WHILE keeping the challenge factor in tact. I'm not sure if the PSP version is the same but if it is I'd get that over the GBA one any day.
Maybe somebody who wasn't raised on the NES version would love the newer ones but it's just too easy for me. And I scooped it up right away too, I wanted it to be a better-looking version of the original but with all the bugs fixed (ex. spell damage scaling with INT, the thief running from battle bug, the special weapons like the Werebane dealing extra damage bug, etc).

People are stating that Mobius will have english translation soon on steam. Since it already has a stream store place, that might be pretty soon. Im about 50% sure that either Mobius will be released next from square-enix, or a game like i am sensuna...
