Ah, now I remember the game - Bioshock crashes with OpenAL installed.
You should be able to put this dll http://www.hammerwatch.com/OpenAL32.dll in to the game folder and then uninstall OpenAL. That way it will use a software implementation of OpenAL.
As myran said if you just have the dll in the hammerwatch folder only hammerwatch will use it and it wont be actually installed if openAL gives you issues with other games.
The game's audio actually works alot better under Linux for me than Windows... so there's always that.
Oh and the CPU usage with Windows 7 audio? I even resort to the MICROSOFT DRIVERS and it still happens overtime...
I know my hammerwatch is using the OpenAL.dll in my windows folder, im on 64bit professional if your wondering, Ive got a 4 year old cheapish sound card in it.
