Responses that don't match paperwork
What do you do if someone's responses to the reason for entry and duration of stay questions don't match their paperwork? For example, a woman just told me she is staying "forever" when her job permit said she was staying for one year. Same with the reason for entry. Every now and then I'll get a person who says they are just visiting or passing through, but have a work permit. What do you do to interrogate them about these sort of discrepencies?

compare it to the dialog sheet in the console (center)

Or you could just simply stamp her visa "denied" (without checking the discrepency). This also works and saves time. Unless, of course you need the reason stamp to appear... then you have to click in the center above the speaker thing, pull up the dialog sheet, highlight the discrepency... Stamping denied much easier.

Ah, I didn't even notice that until now. Thanks.

link work permit/entry permit to the transcript of the audio booth. will detect discrepancy and deny or approve, depending on the response.

What's the right thing to do?
Do I let them through if they change their answer?

If they correct themselves to the right answer you should let them in, yes.

Yes, if they change their answer to match the permit, you can allow them entry with no penalty.

EDIT: ninja'd

Even though that's stupid as they are probably lying.

You may have to, because they have corrected themselves. I remember getting a citation for denying an immigrant who has corrected himself.

If they say "I have nothing to say" then you're clear to deny, because they're not even trying to correct it.

I denied a person after they corrected themselves and recieved no penalty.

Obristan over all.

There was probably something else wrong with their papers that you hadn't noticed, and you got lucky.
