False citations -_- Freaking annoying
Has anyone had issues where citations are being issued for no good reason? At first i thought i was over looking details, but no, I've had the game tell me that I had a name or code wrong after taking my time confirming it!

I really don't think the game is bugged. Just feels that way once things get complicated and there's too many things to carefully check over.

Just kick "I use multiple name" people out, it was their job to have the same name on the passport and relevant paperwork, not yours.

I've never had a false citation AFAIK. One thing that can easily catch you out is that sometimes the names can be just ONE letter off, such as Martin Wilma instead of Marlin Wilma. With how long the names can be, it can be tricky to spot and appear correct sometimes.

With long names i always use the inspect mode. Its faster and safer then trying to fit those names into your brain :)

This is actually a bug. Some aliases, even after verifying, would throw a citation. It's fixed in 1.0.35 if you want to try the preview release. http://papersplea.se/update

I knew something was off about those citations! xD Glad to see an update from a Dev! This is a great game!

I also got tackled by the stamp mismatching when it comes to work visas. The stamp color blends in so well with the purple paper, especially on the unfilled circles that need M.O.L in it!

I've had my fair share of citations where I thought they weren't justified. But I guess in most cases I just missed the misspelling of a city or a name. It seems a bit unfair of the game to have such small variations in the spelling, but at least that gives you a reason to become more attentive. :D

It's really great when a developer participates in the Steam forums. Since you seem to be reading this thread, here's another small thing that should be fixed: I once had a person at the checkpoint where the documents said that he/she (don't remember which) was 201cm tall, when in reality he/she was only about 180cm tall. I tried to point out the discrepancy, but the game said "Matching data". So I had no choice but to let her/him go through and was already cursing the game for the citation that was about to come, but then he/she went through just fine.

Even though the fingerprints match, BOTH names have to be on the official blue fingerprint strip. So if she says she has two names and the official strip says: x=name / y=no known aliases, you connect the false name with the "no known aliases" and it will give discrepancy.

Only when the fingerprints match and both the names the person has given are on the official strip can you let them in.

The game's awesome, but i think it's weird to get a citation for denying entry for a person whose entry permit says he's coming for a visit of, for example, 30 days, and he says he's staying for 6 months. Even if he corrects, and says he's going to stay for 30 days, it's obvioius that he's going to stay 6 months... well, maybe they should make a sequel, where you have to hunt down illegal aliens...

I think the logic here is: You are not here to use your brain, you are here to follow the rules.
The party above you doesn't care what you think, they care that you check the values.

I do feel there's something missing though. When someone says "I will stay until I die" and then they say "my mistake, I will stay 2 days", they should be taken aside and questioned, but there's no way to express that. This did actually happen to me.

I had this. Take a screenshot of every passport and when you get a citation, check the names. sometimes only one or two letters are different. Instead (especially on long names) just select the name from the passport and the entry permit and let the computer check it for you.

This is the reason why I try not to buy games at release date. They usually have bugs here and there, that may not be game breaking, but still annoying. After a couple of weeks the games get patched appropiately and are very stable bug-wise ( in general ).

I think I've had false citations, e.g. I knew I checked the person's height but I get a citation for not doing it properly. I have no idea whether it's a deliberate simulation of the sort of shy#* boss who find faults in whatever you do, or the unfairness of the bureaucratic machine/ At other times I'm happy to accept them, as I know I'm not very good at this sort of job anyway. Lottery should have made me a software engineer... ;)
