How to inspect duration or purpose of stay
For the love of me I can't mark the discrepancy in duration or purpose of visit - just don't know what to tag along with the entry permit data. The person's picture? Document tray? Nothing seems to work :/ Do I really have to click the conversation bubbles while they are on the screen?

There is an protocol of everything a person says in the middle on the left side. Take that out and mark the specific sentence.

There is a document printout of the conversation in the center of your tray there is a thing that looks like a microphone and a piece of paper has its corners sticking out from behind it.

Behind the button you click to interrogate them is a piece of paper that has the whole conversation on it, use that.

What about "reason for visiting"? I can't find the rule to match against the transcript . . .

Reason for visiting appears on the entry permit. If the entrant does not hand over an entry permit, use your rulebook to highlight the desk and the statement "Foreigners require an entry permit". Interogation will result in either the missing permit or an excuse.

What if the reason for visiting doesnt match what they said? Is that grounds for denial?

This is the confusion I've had. I've had people change their minds about staying only to be hit with an MOA because I've thrown them out for having the incorrect reason. Other times the game has agreed with me throwing them out. In fact 9/10 it agree's with me, only once has it not so far.

I'd ire on the side of caution. If there are any discrepencies that cannot be proven to be legit, throw them out. Its like a real border pass, if someone lies about something, or changes their story, and it can't be proven that the story they changed to is true, then they are lying to a goverenment offical and are not wanted in the country.

If the reason for visiting doesn't match the transcript, you are allowed to deny them immediately and send them packing. However, if you interrogate, they will *always* correct themselves, thus removing the contradiction. It's up to you whether you want to give them the benefit of the doubt or be as strict as possible.
Later on, the game introduces a Reason for Denial stamp that must be used every time you want to deny entry. But in order to use the stamp for each entrant, you're forced to interrogate them, thus allowing them to correct themselves.
