MacOS, Unchecked Fullscreen and now can no longer play
I just bought the game and was going through the settings after first launch. After it went out of fullscreen, I have 0 way of getting it back in or interacting with the window of the game.
I've reinstalled at least 10 times, I can't find anywhere that suggests any startup lines to use, my mouse just doesn't seem to be responsive. Help!

You're not on Mac OS Catalina, are you? If so, Papers Please is 32 bit and so won't play under Catalina at all. Otherwise... not sure!

Hello! I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure this out, eventually found the solution thanks a user there. This will put you on an older version of the game, but the gameplay is the same and should be less laggy

Go to the game Properties -> Betas -> Beta Participation and select the Legacy 64-bit build. The game should do a quick update and when I clicked it it was fullscreen and much more responsive. Hope this helps!

I'm having the SAME issue on my macOS Sonoma. tried running the legacy beta and I'm getting a disc write error :/

I had a similar issue with an old Mac mini running MacOS 10.13.6 (High Sierra) : when launching the game, only a black screen is displayed with the music of the menu.

The solution is also to go to the game Properties -> Betas -> select the Legacy 64-bits build.
And then the game runs correctly again. :steamhappy:

On Windows there a 2 new command line option:
- 1080
-stretch
Perhaps these work on Mac too?
