Saves won't sync between Steam Deck and Desktop

I got to day 16 on my Steam Deck, but wanted to switch over to my desktop because it's easier to control. It says everything is synced up, but my save isn't there on desktop. I double checked that cloud sync was on for both the Deck and the Desktop, but nothing seems to work. Anybody else run into this issue?

Were you running the linux version or windows version on your deck? I dont think the save games between the 2 versions would be compatible and sometimes steam deck defaults to the linux version of a game.

I haven't modified it, so I'm probably using linux. That makes sense. Thanks.

I have this issue between two Windows PCs. My cloud saves won't sync from my desktop to my laptop. I wonder if it's a steam cloud bug?

Was a fix for this ever discovered? I'm having the same issue. Haven't had any problems with my other games.

The developer for some reason decided to specifically disable cloud saves for Linux. If you override the game to use Proton, under compatibility options, you'll get the Windows-only cloud-save support.

That's a bummer if you want to sync between macOS and Steam Deck. :-(
I feel violated, game clearly states Steam Cloud support yet it's not available for any platform I use. Why the heck would anyone want windows-only sync?
