Vince Lestrade, let in or detain?

This is my second playthrough, and I was wondering, are there any upsides of letting him in?

I let him through...his papers checked out so he was free to enter. If i refused him then i'd get a citation or whatever...a warning first? i didnt know how to detain him anyway.

On my second playthrough i detained him, but seems you'll get the 5 credits whether you detain or grant him entry as his papers check out. Though who knows maybe in another playthrough his papers wont check out...so you can detain or just refuse him entry in that case. But if his papers check out then by denying him entry without detaining him (i guess) would give you a citation. Despite him being a murderer lol

his papers always check out from what i see, its just a little easter egg that you can do if you connect the two dots

You detain him by clicking on the news item and then his name. And your guy goes 'oh hey you're Vince Lestrade.'
