Also his german high pitch is a bit german
I honestly don't like mb largely because this fluff piece paints him as some unique and grand person, despite the fact he honestly looks like he has a meth/crack addiction, presents himself. plays and acts llike how 90% of the streamer base does on one of the worst platforms with a history of issues ranging from their crappy ToS, to unfair moderation standards and their massive thot/simp problem.
The sarcastic humor bit doesn't bother me that much as I am capable of behaving like that when I have to speak a hot take or deal with someone who I legit can't stand. If you like, follow and subscribe to him, I don't have an issue and you are free to do so, but it also doesn't mean he is safe from criticism and we aren't jackasses or dumbasses for not liking him.
Atleast you're honest about not liking streamers and twitch. I wonder why this is.
Right, GGG has explained during that league in a news post (and even a baeclast episode which I can't find sadly). They had a ""streamer queue"" because if they did not have that queue nobody could play the game including the #ad streamers GGG paid for 2 hours, it's somewhat comparable to burning your own money because those paid streamers could not properly play/show the game.
edit: deleted a word
>The main platform itself is a cancer on a myriad of levels (terrible moderation, support, ToS, etc.)
>A lot of the people who do stream are largely charisma black holes, look like unkempt soyboys or drug abusers (mbXtreme), have serious social issues, mental disorders and/or down right anti-social behaviours (eg. Dellor), cringelords (Zizaran) or are downright degenerates (pretty much anyone like Deer Girl) who all play and/or present themselves the same way with some minor differences (camera feed takes up a section of the screen, where they just stare, show off twitch chat, display subs, goals, etc.)
>Some of the streamer communities and especially platforms have a political bias as well. If you don't think the way they do, they can easily ostracise or ban you or in the case of the speedrunners, flat out ban you from submissions. Twitch has been notorious for this for years.
>Some streamers influence others to play their way and the users who emulate often don't think or fully grasp the A->B route (eg. Juicebags on DD2, several POE streamers) and often it blows up in their face and can get very ♥♥♥♥♥♥ when it doesn't work. This is more a problem with the viewers than the streamer, but the streamer can be at fault sometimes (eg. if the streamer fails to explain to people the gritty components of how something works the way it works or doesn't factor in the strength of the people s/he is helping).
>They have a massive simp/thot problem, going as far as having mods protect these people or lax the rules (eg. Alinity tossing her cat over her head vs a guy dropping his catfish on camera or the recent scandal involving a thot having sex on camera), which also in turn produces the creepy guys with anti-social behavior.
>Some streamers are either actual or come off as shills or disingenuous pricks that are ultimately making it about the money or personal expedience and the game is just a vehicle (eg. ZiggyD, Zizaran, Juicebags with DD2, etc.).
All this combined with some past experiences to give me the bias. There are about... 2 or 3 whom I actually like. 1 of which does stream this game (Jousis). I am also not the only one who has problems with streamers and/or Twitch as well.
I myself have a job and don't need to stream, but if I did, I would need to do something incredibly unique and stand out, not do gaming and I would definitely NOT use Twitch. If I do end up gaming, I would definitely need to make it worth your time and I will admit that I would be doing it for money, but I would at least be honest about it and grateful for it.
I won't stop anyone from pursuing that avenue if they wish and I completely understand if people like them, but know that you are going to be in stiff competition and just because you see a small group get successful, doesn't automatically mean you will.
Yes and they admitted that it was a really bad idea at the time of the post due to the loss of revenue and the complaints the average users got over that problem. Not to mention it isn't exactly fun when you see adstreamers playing 2 hours nearly unabated while everyone else is basically getting the Diablo 3 Error 50 treatment on launch. Plus, didn't a few of the players and/or streamers find a dupe trick that allowed to copy exalts that league?
They could have easily avoided this had they handled the database problem to begin with. At least they were man enough to make a post apologizing and explaining themselves what happened, unlike how The People's Republic of Blizzard acted over Warcraft III Reforged.
Rofl, I like the guy that acts like an elitist ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because I can identify with him because I, too, am an elitist ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. LEAVE HIM ALONE! You clearly don't get sarcasm!
Bruv, saying your ♥♥♥♥♥♥, abrasive personality is sarcasm, doesn't make it sarcasm. Its still just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥, abrasive personality.
Man GGG picks the perfect people for their interviews, this IS the community, this is PoE. They are way past giving a ♥♥♥♥ about dressing up the kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they cater to and prop up. No one should be shocked.
Great comment, Thanks for the write up
There are some points you make that I don't really agree with or are biased on personal experience/ personal opinions about streamers you mention.
I personally avoid streams that discuss a lot of politics, but ban someone from sending speedruns seems odd unless you rig/cheat the speedrun. (reminded me of a certain Celeste speedrun) and there is always the speedrun . com website to send in speedruns I would assume.
But I do agree on the points about Twitch as a platform (ToS, moderation and such) and the
creepy guys with anti-social behavior, I would even add para social relationship viewers to this.
True.
As far as I can remember certain Ultimatums were able to spawn almost infinite enemies and almost infinite items. I'm unsure about copy exalted orbs.
As someone with a little bit software development experience, you make it sound really easy than it actually might be. Even if they did fix that specific thing, a new technical problem appears.
He is not even a good player, just someone who stacks mirrors in his builds and thinks he is great, cause of washcloths like you
I am glad we came to at least some understanding on the issue.
The speedrunner banned for incorrect political thoughts has been happening for a few years now, especially in GDQ when CoolMatty took over and they featured ProtoMagicalGirl on the panels. The Speedrunner Archives have also had this problem for some time.
Speedrun cheaters unfortunately do deserve the axe for breaking the rules. That I agree with.
That's what sort of bothers me with streamers too. It's not so much how they acquire currency that bothers me: It is dependent on luck, your physical and mental abilities, your item filter and knowledge as I myself have gotten high exalt trades (best so far was 40ex). It's the fact that they throw as high as mirrors at their characters, while there are others that are still trying to grasp the market and/or their luck has been the drizzling ♥♥♥♥♥.
Also, some basically do whatever build is meta on the poe build sites. I only tend to look at them to get a basic grasp at the 6L of a skill I want to use in case they find something I didn't and then I put my own personal spin on it. The apotheosis of this was a Reap Juggernaut I made 2 leagues ago.
just watch balormage, zizeran, tripolar (probably has bodies in basement) for 5mins.
mbx does RMT and says people quitting the league donate (mirrors and mirrors in first week on gambles), yea day 3 mageblood worth of donations, ok.
