Crafting has made farming for gear significantly less exciting, and gear farming is one of the main reasons many of us play ARPG's. The excitement of getting that 1 in 1,000,000 drop only exists on a mirror anymore. So, unless you get a mirror drop, there are no crazy dopamine pings left in the game.
Never before has the new end game boss felt less relevant. I one shot Maven this league. That has never happened with any brand new end game boss in PoE ever, and the reason for it this league is that perfect items are now the norm, and not exciting or rare.
For solo self found, all of these additions kind of make sense, but for an always online economy ARPG, all of this stuff just makes things more and more silly, imo.
I remember when it was actually hard to cap resistances, 4 links were hard to get during the campaign, and the weaver and many other campaign bosses were gear/skill checks preventing progress. Now its just face roll through area's and craft perfect gear to kill weak monsters and bosses. Boring....
I would rather that it gave me a very few choices to do and I get to keep an unlimited choices for later to deal with on my own so that as a group we can go in, kill everything and continue on.
It also would be nice for my group to see what the difference between the two harvests are so they can suggest a choice.
For several leagues now I've pretty much stopped picking up and identifying rare items. It's just not worth the time and effort. I can make more currency by just picking up raw currency drops, fragments, maps and/or unidentified rare items to make chaos recipes. I get that if everyone played like this there'd be no rare items available on trade sites... But if just about 1 in 200 items is worth more than 1 chaos it really is just a giant waste of time. I want to play the game, not scour through countless rares for the seemingly infinitely small chance at a useful item. So if you make Harvest useless (too) then the game just loses more and more appeal in my opinion.
Congrats.
My main issue with PoE, is that crafting feels like a very select club
First you need a lot of currency. And since money beckons money it tends to spiral out of control.
Second you need knowledge, and without the external tools, it's just impossible.
Third, RNG fests are really not fun past the 50th hour.
So not to keen in that regard... What's the problem with more players accessing mirror-tier items?
Maybe think of a way to make other crafting mechanics more interesting/worth your time?
