You get 1/5th of a scroll of wisdom for every white quality item you "sell", I think.
For blue quality and above, not sure if identifying influences vendor "prices" or not.
Why don't you test it out in-game? :D
Blues and higher will give Alteration Shards If they are identified. They MAY give more of these shards depending on the bonuses attached to the item.
Unidentified items will give Transmutation Shards.
While whites will give the wisdom scroll fragments.
It all depends on what currency you want from selling these items. If you are new to the vendor recipes I would not recommend identifing items unless you think you will want to use it.
Why? Alterations. Alterations can be traded for jeweler's orbs at the accessory vendor at a ratio of 2:1, and then you can trade jeweler's orbs for fusings at a ratio of 4:1. So 8 alterations can make 1 fusing. Fusings tend to be equal in worth with alchemy orbs which are 2:1 with chaos orbs. So you can pretty much figure that 16 alts can get you a chaos (turn them into 2 fusings at vendor, trade the 2 fusings for chaos).
If you have a portal gem you can sell all your portal scrolls for more wisdom scrolls, thereby speeding up the alteration farming. Also you can sell alts directly, lots of people don't bother with yellows till high level and instead find good whites and transmute + alt them till they get stats they want on it.
