Is there a way to turn off other player's cosmetics for yourself visually?

When I'm unlucky and load into a busy hub it eats up my video memory so fast its causing the game to crash. If I could disable the visuals just for me that would be cool.

No, but the public instances you get assigned to are based upon league and gateway, so you could try to avoid the public leagues, popular leagues or to use gateways that aren't really in their prime time.

would be nice if we could, but then people who paid real money for the mtx to be seen would be mad for not being able to flex, and ggg priorizes them because of moneysss

GGG needs to make money.
Seeing other peoples skin in town is an important part for GGG to make some money.
Its a free game.
they need some advertisment for their skins

they stated several times that they can not turn this feature off
it would be too expensive for them

btw even with my previous card which was an old RX 480 4GB from 2016
i never really had any bigger problems with peoples mtx in town.
some slight lag for a few seconds in town but thats it.
Now with GTX 1080 its 0 problem

maybe its time for a new GPU ;)

If some people don't "flex", you would not be able to play for free...

If GGG was greedy, you would be able to pay to get orbs, not skins...

You're either trolling or you have a 3GB VRAM dumpster GPU. There's no way peoples MTX are filling up your RAM. I've run into your posts in other steam communities too there's no way you play Darktide but don't have the RAM for PoE.

Exactly, doesn't post specs or any information, just a wild assumption that it's player MTX that is causing, not his backdoor dial up internet that's most likely the issue. req for PoE 650TI (1GB Vram) req for darktide 970 (4gb vram). This game runs on a potato, im not sure what he's got that could be worse than that.

Some people just don't understand how the world works. He probably thinks GGG's workers are robots who don't need to eat or have a social life. And yeah, his argument about GGG caring more about people who "flex" doesn't make any sense since you can't buy power in this game.

There have been times, though fairly long ago in the past, where significant load could be found in towns, sometimes causing slide-show gameplay and even crashes for some. So, it's not so far out of the realm of reason that one might think.

One would think that all the needed graphics and effects for everything in the game would be client-side. That'd make sense. Triggering all those to load up at the same time and with max player load in a Town, plus "bots..." as well as unoptimized effects... could get hairy, even when some paid-for MTX effects are purposefully swithced off in towns due to the load they can cause if multiple users are using those slot types. (eg: There are MTX effects that are switched off in Towns. Why? For this reason...)

flexing isn't just about power, in this game is more about skins and stupid mtx.

so yes it does make sense, cause flexing is just... stupid? but if you can't see if for yourself, I shouldn't waste more time here.

its really annoying having my entire screen shake because some A hole has to show off their 100 dollar MTXs

also I would pay 70 USD for this game to not have paid cosmetics and have a toggle MTX option.

Yes I have low video memory but that doesn't bother me the game runs at about 110fps on low settings. I crash because of the mtx cosmetics plain and simple. It would be great if that didn't happen but oh well. It sucks they don't offer a toggle that wouldn't hurt anyone.
