Cause they dont make money from people like you and me. Ye maybe we buy something if it would be cheaper. But we are not the people that would spend 100 or 300 on the game a month. So why would they make the price for people like us that only maybe spend a 100 a year. They can get way more from streamers that have more money to spend or long time players that only play 1 or 2 games and are invested into it. Those people dont bat a eye if they need to spend 500 a month on the game that gives them fun or content for the stream.

I dont blame the devs for it, its just how the world works.

30 dollar supporter pack and then using the extra points you get for Kirac's Vault Pass is the way to go if you want lots of MTX for an (in my opinon) acceptable price.

I guess it really does come down to target demographic. For me, I look at it like, I can buy a large big mac meal for $12 or this loot box for 2/3 the price.

Clearly PoE is the healthier choice. That makes me feel good about myself.

It's simple business, really.
There is a small group of people that will buy whatever they want at almost any price. Those people would buy even if the price was 10 bucks a box or more and the box contained mostly trash.
Then there's a slightly bigger group that will buy so long as the price stays around the range it is now, either because they don't like getting fleeced or the "cosmetic only" tag only goes so far in justifying the price.
Then there's a much, much larger group that either won't buy at all or only if the price goes really, really low.
Statistics say that there's a price range where further lowering prices will no longer increase but decrease profit, because the amount of extra players buying won't make up for the lost profit on all the "already secured" sales that are now crossing the virtual counter for less.

Then there's the problem that lowering prices too much tends to make people think the product isn't worth it. No point in having cosmetics to be special if everyone has them. There's value to that.

I bet you dollars to virtual donuts that the math of this has already been done.

Personally I tend to put a bit of money away on every league I enjoyed myself and then buy a supporter pack and some cosmetics when something I like is discounted.
If I don't play, no money for Chris. If I play and the league is crap, no money for Chris. If I play and like it, I put a tenner towards PoE fashion statements to be spent as the situation demands.
