I started playing this game in closed beta. Have had multiple high level characters, and would like to get some steam achievements.

I have no issues using the normal non steam client. But I was just wondering if I could use an existing account when playing thru steam. If not its no huge deal. But I do like achievements.

Yes, what PortableGoogle said; There is an option to link your Steam account to your PoE account. You have to go through some email verifications and such in order to do so.

I was in the Beta as well and linked my two accounts together. Had my 3 characters and all my gear. Granted they were in Standard and Hardcore, so I started new ones for Nemesis and Domination.

Take note though, once you link a PoE account to a Steam account, you can't unlink them. If you wanted another account for muling or something, you'd have to make another Steam account and another PoE account and link those together. AFAIK though, I could be wrong.
