how much portal gem worth?

i just found a portal gem, and i dont really need it, as scrolls are good enough for me.
for how much can i sell it?

At least 1 GCP. It is one of the most expensive gem in the game. You should not sell it tho. It's very good.

keep it, over the long run it will gain you currency, got about 2k portal scroll sitting, waiting to be exchanged and i don't really play that much.
Realy comes in to play if you start farming...you can go through a lot of portals if you get good IIQ/IIR and need to unload you loot in town a lot

Don't find that portal gem that useful. Still using TPs as the cast-animation of the gem was delayed (any hit interrupts it) and the cast animation from scroll is kind of instant. But possible this got changed meanwhile.

Last time I've used it, this was still the cause (about 2 weeks ago or so). Beside of that, you waste a socket, which you could use for a support gem or whatever.
You can save Portal Scrolls with the gem, but the time you need to convert the scrolls into "useful" currency, isn't worth it (imo).
But maybe you could link it with cast on death? Never tried it and I don't know if it works, but at least it would give it some sense. As long as you don't play HC ^^

Nemesis chat mentions that one nearly every time a "Cast on Death" is linked in chat... so it will probably work in softcore (or it's another one of the many trolls).

Had do try it out, it DOES work in SC. Worthless for HC though ^^ But I think I will use this combo in sc, for skipping areas. So I don't have to care for desync and so on, while I run through the mobs ^^
