The controls?
This looks like it could be a really good game but control is too difficult! Why can't you have WSAD controls. Well i guess more patient and experient players can deal with this but its really hard for new players to jump into the game with this weird controls. I hoped you could change this in the settings but apparently not.

what the ...? you just click where you want to go, it cant get any simpler

I actually do have WASD controls, I rebound the keys for the spells to those. If you are refering to how the character moves, Left click to move is a distinguishing feature of the genre.

well im so used to moving with WASD keys this is really annoying to get used to. Im sorry if it pisses you off but i actually havn't tried a lot of ARPG and a lot of them actually do have WASD control as well as left click to move so it was fine, so this is kinda foreign for me.

No, D3 used the classical click-to-move controls.

There's nothing weird about the controls. They are as typical for ARPGs as WASD is for FPS shooters. It's also not really hard to get used to different control schemes and as a gamer you should probably be used to both. Doom and Wolfenstein used WASD, which was the first time I encountered those, but most of the older RPGs used mouse controls, so WASD seemed weird at first. Ultima Online, the first popular MMORPG, also used mouse controls (and EverQuest used WASD).

Neither is really different. Overall, I prefer the mouse controls for ARPGs, by a large margin.

Yes you are right. I'm more of a FPS player so im very familiar to WASD controls. The reason i started playing PoE is because i wanted to play something different but i was sort of confused by how different the control is. Since i posted this i did play bit more and i am getting used to the control, although it is not as fluent as i would like it to be. But other than difficult controls, i really like this game so far.

Also remember to use the shift key to stand in one place. It's especially useful for bows and wands.

Dude name a SINGLE ARPG that has wasd controls, just one... there isnt one unless you count console games that use sticks but that isnt what we are talking about. Dont say things you know nothing about as you admit you havent played ARPG's, it makes you look like an idiot.

Left clicking a mouse is foreign to you? How do you use all of the other functions that a computer provides. Left clicking is the standard for ARPGs, and it's not going to change because some guy finds the clicking of the left mouse button foreign. This may be the dumbest thing I have ever seen on Steam forums.
OvejaExplosiva Nov 19, 2013 @ 6:06pm
The glorious D1 already used left click movement... It seems you are new to ARPGs :P
