Theres no easy class in this game. In fact class doesn't really matter besides your location on the skill tree and minor stat gain differences there is no difference in the classes.

You actually got to know what build you want to play and thats what determines the best class for you.
None of the classes will be easy. Just choose whatever class intrests you and have fun. First charcters most of the time aren't too good.

scion
He probably doesn't have the Scion unlocked yet.

Duelist and ranger have relatively beginner-friendly starting positions, but as others have said, it doesn't matter. You should try and make or find a build that appeals to you. By build, I mean playstyle-related aspect, e.g. whether you want to use a bow, or a sword/shield, or dual claws, or if you want to be a witch with minions, or one that throws fireballs, etc. If you tell us what you want to play, you might get some build suggestions. :)
Marauder or Scion due to life regen.

templar and duelist is good

ranger is for people who are alright at the game

shadow and witch is one of hardest classes.
??? witch is actually easy to play early but hard late game cuz sometime people played witch with no dps or high dps but 1 hit dead.

Builds is what matter (specialization), not the class.

I would suggest that you google Lightening arrow ranger (easy to gear) or Infernal Blow Marauder/ Duelist (basically a build where you wear heavy armor, a shield, high life and life regen and then try to get in the middle of mob groups to blow them up with the chain reactions of infernal blow, hella fun).
I saw you should try them all out, then again though it can be boring with some classes early in, like the melee is really slow and whatnot. I say try like the feel of melee/ranged/caster first. Ranger was fun, and I got this poison arrow that did a little aoe damage which was nice, felt safe. My mains a caster and that's fun.

This is personally my favorite youtuber when it comes to POE and this is his suggestion at a beginner build.

the reason why i said it like this is due to survivability, the early game shadow and witch suffers greatly from lack of life nodes around their passive areas.
It's just really hard to make general statements about the classes.

For example, playing through normal and early cruel, a fireball witch and a arc/lightning trap witch was super smooth. When I leveled my summoner witch, normal mode was a total nightmare and she only started to get good in the 40s.

With the shadow, I played several different ones through normal and into cruel. A bow-using build was fine until act3 where it started to drag, a freezing pulse build was slow in the first part and then sped up noticeably. And my current project is a dual claw using shadow with massive life leech (life build with evasion), which of all my characters had the easiest time leveling to about 50 (not higher with him yet). The only other of my characters that came close is a 2H mace spectral throw scion.

All of this is mostly untwinked, none of the speed leveling uniques that people use. I would, if I had them. :)
Solo normal a ranged character was much easier than a melee character. The reason is the totems in dungeons, and basically that is entirely the reason. Some of it will depend on your dub step and your kiting though. If you absolutely will not rhythm kite I could see a ranged character being more difficult. I should also note that doing solo characters and doing dedicated co-op characters was an entirely different experience. In dedicated co-op I barely noticed totem dungeons even as a melee. In solo those rooms had to be carefully picked a part and a ranged character made it much easier.
