[skill cannot be used] ?????

level 5 duelist. I am trying to use one of my specials but both say cannot be used. so i just get owned running around trying to melee everyone.. sorry if this is a n0000bish as it sounds but it seems to me that something is locked or i do not have something equipped to use my mana and special skills???

What is the name of the skill you are trying to use? It's possible you have the wrong weapon type for the skill you are trying to use. Cleave for example needs a sword or an axe.

when i unequip then my specials do not even show up so apparently its something with my weapons?

The starting skill for duelist is Dual Strike i belive. It won't function with a bow. If you get a skill like Split Arrow for example. You'll be able to use that skill with your bow.

The skills in this game are items themself. Gems you slot into your gear. If you take off your weapon, and that weapon has your skill in it. It will be removed from your bar until you put the weapon back on.

You can take the gems out and put them back in at will. So you can move it to another bit of gear. Just make sure the gem colour matches the gem slot.
