my witch has zombies, skeletons, & 'raise spectre' (( edit: not animate guardian like I first posted, apologies)).
( 6 zombies, 8 skellies & one ghostie when summoned ) ( I also have three support gems, a boost minion life, and a boost minion damage, and a boost minion/totme duration)
along with going the fire route on the tree for her spells....she can hold her own so far. ;)
summoner witch is pretty fun....your own personal army.
Here is a very important point! Gems level up, the higher the level the stronger they are..u need to equip the ones you want later as soon as you can. Maybe even level 2 sets so when you get level 20 gems can swap for level 1 gems of 20 quality then use your second set. Magic is all abt gem level.
you are absolutely right the animate spells become worthless pretty quickly, I was referencing the wrong gem, sorry... I meant raise spectre as well.
