it was the first time...and the last time i used orbs

Its not entirely RNG, it depends on what kind of item you are trying to colour.

Armour = Red
Evasion = Green
Energy shield = Blue

Same kind of thing with weapons based on what stats are its focus.

Trying to roll 3 blues on a strength item is going to chew up a lot of orbs especially if it only has 3 sockets.

That being said and done 60 chromatics really isn't a lot... certainly not worth a forum post about.

60 Chroms isn't that much. Come back when you've spent over 500 fusings trying to 6 Link something.

the colour of sockets is biased quite a bit...don't expect to get all blue on something that isnt Energy shield based, you may get it on ES/Eva or ES/Armour but at a large cost.

if you have an item with only a strength requirement, it is 90% chance for a red socket, 5% green, 5% blue. If you want 3 blue that's a really small chance.

The results are normally going to be similar to the items requirements.

I just sold 380 chroms to a guy trying to get two red sockets on an eva/es item... told him good luck, and thanks for the 19 chaos orbs.

I never try and off-color roll an item; better to sell the chroms and buy that item already with the colors I need from trade.

thanks for the information

then i would vote for an in-game crafting tutorial that explains these mechanics...
or at least the various crafting chances in the mouse-over-menu

These numbers are all player found, its part of the games appeal, to not be for 'casuals'.

I would recommoned checking out the PoE wiki, it has all the information you will need.

Six linked my first armor today, a nice Soul Mantle on my witch! It was a blessed feeling, I got all warm inside.

Congrats man! How many fusing did it take you?

Thanks man, twas a very good feeling (and achievement). Got it on like the 5th fusing.... lol. I had tried 6 linking another chest before but couldn't get it, so I'd say I've got through maybe 100 fusings or so. Not bad considering some people who are doing the 6L Lottery have gone through 500+ fusings and still haven't 6 linked.

I'm glad I am not to the point of having good enough items to test my luck. I guess it makes the game a little more interesting (or frustrating)!
