for POE, you need to study that game on the internet to get a clue how to play...
at least to save hundreds of hours on useless builds...
or to make less crafting mistakes.
Blizzard didn't lie though. I should have known better when the description said, "it is up to a new generation of heroes to face the forces of evil threatening the world of Sanctuary".
both games terrible
Dont speak for all of us. Just because YOU choose to copy someone else when faced with a tough game doesnt mean that all of us do. I like to experiment with different builds and when I finally find something that works well, the feeling of accomplishment keeps me coming back to PoE. D3 every single character of one class is almost identical.
PoE is a significantly harder ARPG for the gamer with more time to play. Personally I would play more PoE if there were more waypoints. The ziggurat section in act 2 is painfully long between waypoints.
On a side note, I think Torchlight 2 has better mechanics than both but the overly cartoon graphics puts me off sinking too many hours into it.
I'd say both have their places. Here is a general list of which is better:
Price: PoE (its free) but if you play enough/like Diablo 3 then its worth it..the price went low so maybe its worth it now.
Graphics: Diablo 3. Hands down.
Regions: Diablo 3 is region locked. PoE uses logging portals which I guess should reduce lag or something?
Lag: Diablo3 has 0 lag if you play off the correct region that you are in. I guess you can factor in internet too..I play on EU sometimes and get minor lag. With PoE you jsut use a region gateway..but still get lag either way. Maybe its jsut the servers they run.
Gameplay: Atm both are about the same. PoE have a very unique passive skill system though so you might wanna look into that.
Story: Haven't finished PoE..but Diablo 3 just continues the Diablo storyline
